CEO/BOC Candidates forum

On June 17, Emory University’s Office of Governmental & Community Affairs, The Clifton Community Partnership, & The League of Women Voters of DeKalb County will present a forum featuring candidates for the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DeKalb County
& Board of Commissioners, District 6. The forum will be held at 7p.m. at Glenn United Methodist Church Memorial Sanctuary, 1660 North Decatur Road, NE, Alanta, Georgia 30307

Polish up your best flip-flops and get ready to enjoy 60 tons of sand on East Ponce. Dance in the streets to the beach music from the live band performing on the stage that stretches across Ponce de Leon Avenue across from the Square.

Activities include children's boardwalk games, a special beach movie on the giant inflatable screen, face painting, wading pools in the sand and more.

Adults $6.50 (in advance); Children 12 and under, free (limit two children per paying adult). No coolers, glass or pets allowed.

This is a great meeting for members and non-members alike. Not only is there a lot going on in our local area to learn about, but this meeting will also serve as key part of our annual membership campaign efforts.

Medlock Garden Tour - 1st Annual Event!
Saturday, July 12, 9 am - 1 pm

Tickets $3 - @ Ace Hardware starting June 16
and Medlock Elementary (front porch) on July 12.

Proceeds benefit environmental education at Medlock Elementary. Ace Hardware will donate a rain barrel to the Medlock Elementary's Children's Garden in connection with the Medlock Garden Tour.

Work Day at Nature Preserve
Start: 9:00 am
End: 12:00 pm

Please join us for the monthly Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve Workday. This Saturday, July 12, volunteers will be gathering at the Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve from 9 a.m. to noon to pull weeds, especially kudzu, and mulching trails. Be sure to bring work gloves and a water bottle!
