As of noon today, Friday, January 8, CHCA roads and sidewalks were still treacherously icy in spots. Although the county garbage trucks and US mail trucks were just seen on the streets, a police car earlier this morning was unable to negotiate the slight incline on Desmond near Superior and had to be helped by another police car. They also closed off Desmond inbound from Clairmont and also Webster from Desmond with orange cones. There were tire tracks on the sidewalk on Clairmont at Desmond so apart from the icy spots on the sidewalks there is the risk of a car swerving onto them. Update from a neighbor: "Cars/SUV's are unable to navigate east or west on the road. All sizes of cars and trucks are colliding. The telephone in front of my house has stopped more than one. Also, I got an email from the county that my street from Clairmont to the bottom of the Desmond hill has been closed, using orange cones. Judy Cantwell 2303 Desmond" Take care.
