Neighbors have reported coyote sightings as well of the death of a pet dog from a coyote attack.... Because they are wily, it is difficult to verify the sightings and actions of coyotes, even here in the densest urban area in the state. So we tracked down an expert to find out more. Michael Ellis founder and director of AWARE (Atlanta Wild Animal Rescue Effort), a non-profit organization whose goal is to "to preserve and restore wildlife and its habitat through education and wildlife rehabilitation," according to its website, spoke to us on Wednesday afternoon.
