From Druid Hills Civic Association newsletter: Trees Atlanta celebrates Georgia Arbor Day, February 19th. On February 19th, 2010, Georgia Arbor Day will be upon us! Georgia Arbor Day is a state holiday that reminds us to reflect upon the importance of trees in our state. The holiday gives everyone an opportunity to learn about trees and the environmental, social, economic, and health benefits they provide to communities. In celebration of Georgia Arbor Day, Trees Atlanta has projects planned in the seven neighborhood arboreta that are sprinkled around Atlanta. These arboreta are in the following neighborhoods: Inman Park, Reynoldstown, Sylvan Hills, Virginia-Highlands, Midtown, Oakhurst, and Cabbagetown.
