Due to the recent tornado and subsequent designation of DeKalb and Fulton as federal disaster relief areas, the IRS has stated that residents and business owners in those and other affected counties have until May 19 to file returns, pay taxes or estimated taxes or any other official filing due originally between March 14 and May 19. The Ga. Dept. of Revenue has done the same. There is no requirement for the taxpayer to have suffered from the storm, merely being a resident of or having a business located in the affected counties.
