From MANA: MANA Neighbors Share Info on Recent Suspicious Person Sighting and Break-in on Woodridge Drive. Reported by a MANA member on Woodridge Drive -- This past Memorial Day weekend an African American man pushing a lawnmower was spotted in the 2400 block of Woodridge. This man showed signs of suffering from a mental illness - using profanity, screaming and yelling. The police were called but they did not catch him. He was spotted on 3 other occasions on Blackburn, Medlock and Woodridge and the police were called each time. He has been sighted going into people's backyards. There have also been some prior reports of lawnmowers being stolen along with a sighting of someone pushing a lawnmower.
A few days later, in the 2400 block of Woodridge, someone's front door was kicked open and a laptop stolen. It happened between 5:15 and 6:15 p.m. on Sunday June 6th. The occupant had left her house for the hour so we assume that someone was watching the house or saw her leave.
Although we do not know if the man spotted in the neighborhood is also responsible for the theft, the police should be called when he is sighted.
Note: The CrimeMapping program also shows an incident of theft on 6/2/2010 at 2:30pm for the 2600 block of Woodridge but MANA does not have any additional info on this incident.
