DECATUR – DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis, Commissioners Kathie Gannon, Jeff Rader and Connie Stokes, the Department of Parks & Recreation, and other community stakeholders recently broke ground for the reconstruction of park features in Mason Mill Park, located at 1400 McDonnell Drive in Decatur. “Parks are an important component of the quality of life in a community,” said CEO Ellis. “Once the reconstruction at Mason Mill Park is complete, families will have a more enjoyable space in which to spend time together.”  The reconstruction includes a dog park, parking spaces, and a playground, and is the first phase of the master plan for the park, which includes walking trails and an open-air pavilion.
