Phase One of Emory Village Construction Begins

From Alliance to Improve Emory Village. Expect to see construction work beginning on the new Emory Village roundabout and streetscapes as soon as Monday, August 23. The first phase, part of which will occur at night, includes the renovation of sidewalks, curbs and other streetscape features on the southwest side of North Decatur Road (between Peavine Creek/Panera Bread and Supercuts).  Access to the business parking lots along this side of North Decatur Road will remain open.  North Decatur Road will shrink from four lanes to three along this stretch of the work area.  The fourth lane will be closed for construction activity.   This first phase of construction will run approximately six to eight weeks into October, at which point, the second phase (similar work on the other side of North Decatur Road) will begin. Learn more about this project at www.emoryvillage.org. During this DeKalb County construction project, drivers should prepare for traffic congestion through Emory Village and be mindful of pedestrians and bicyclists in the area.   Please continue to patronize Emory Village businesses during this project.
