Executive Park Redevelopment PlansThis past week, the owners of the Executive Park office park at I-85 & N. Druid Hills Rd gave a presentation on their plans for redeveloping the site. Plans include a modified exit from northbound I-85 that curves around the existing SunTrust site and directly into Exec. Park; a 12-story hotel located behind the bank; moving Executive Park Drive away from the creek and putting in a PATH-like pedestrian way with increased plantings; a mix of retail and residential over retail in the center of the project with all parking underground; and several other major design elements. The sq. ft. numbers were Office = 1.5 Million sq ft (up from 1.1M currently), Retail = 432,600 sq ft, Residential = 805,300 sq ft, Hotel = 160,000 sq ft and a donation of a 15,000 sq ft building for civic purposes(fire station/police station/library or just meeting space). Only 5 of the current office buildings are being kept, with the total amount of impermeable surface staying about the same. No firm start date was mentioned. |
