Neighborhood Watch Alert November 2011
Since the last Watch E-letter there have been several Forced Entry Burglaries. Thankfully, no one has been hurt. A White sedan car was seen on the 24th when two of the Burglaries took place. A white Buick was seen at the break-in Nov 29th in North Druid Valley. Please be aware of your surroundings and call 911 if you see cars cruising, suspicious cars and/or people.

Nov 29th report From the North Druid Valley Neighborhood:
Just a quick heads up....there was a break in at a house at about 8 am on Homewood across from the path down to Latham. No one was home. The police were called. The burglar was a black man in a white Buick. Please be on the lookout for strange cars in the hood. It is trash day and there are lots of people driving around. Call 911 if u have any suspicions.

Shared from another NW group: One of our older residents in Henderson Estates was coming home from Big Lots yesterday afternoon around 2:00 PM. She was at the traffic light at 285 on Chamblee Tucker when a black car (looked like a BMW) pulled up on her left side and motioned for her to lower her window then he told her that she needed to pull over that she had a flat tire and he would fix it for her. She told him that she would get it checked at a service center. He then pulled up beside her again at Wells Fargo and told her to turn in and turn to the right that it was not just her tire but the rim also. He got short with her and just insisted that she turn right now to the left. This wise lady turned toward the left where all the cars were and managed to lose him when a car backed out of a parking space behind her and she was able to go fast and get away from him.
The driver was a white male with a full head of hair and it was long enough to be wind tossed. The passenger (believed to be a woman) but slumped down in the seat. She had dark auburn colored hair.) If you remember, there were several similar stories about 1 month ago with incidents at Emory Hills. Our smart resident called 911 and a police report was made. Please be careful and if this should happen to you blow your horn continuously to attract attention and go to a safe place with lots of people around or to a service station (as long as others are there). Keep the horn going and doors locked until someone comes.

Monday Nov 28th - Laurel Ridge
This morning I received a call from one of our new neighbors on Millwood Court. He was home about 11 am and heard a commotion on his carport and looked out to see someone stealing his brand new lawn mower that was located behind his car. The lawn mower was already in the thief's car which he had backed into the driveway. The thief took off in the car when he saw the neighbor shouting at him and running his way. The police were called and they found the lawn mower abandoned at the top of Country Squire Drive near the school. The mower was beat up a little but still intact. The man was a white male with grayish hair in his 40's or 50's with a baseball cap on backwards. He was driving a older model dark green Honda Accord from maybe the late 90's or early 2000's. he must have know the mower was there so keep your valuables hidden from sight or off your carports.
