March 27: The City of Decatur announces the cancelation of Electronics Recycling Day scheduled for Saturday, March 28 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. in response to the prediction of severe thunderstorms, strong winds and lightning. David Junger, Assistant City Manager for Public Works, said “The threat of severe weather is a safety hazard for our workers and volunteers. The event is held in an outdoor parking lot and offers no cover for the workers or the electronics that are being recycled.” Electronics Recycling Day has been re-scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Decatur High School parking lot.
