ARC plea for support of transportation bill

The 2009 Georgia General Assembly session has only five days left and we urgently need your help to contact legislators to ensure transportation funding gets addressed this year. Please call your state representative and senator and ask them to do all they can to support passage of a transportation funding bill this session. You can also click www.GetGeorgiaMoving.com to e-mail your lawmakers today.

The House and Senate have both passed their own transportation funding bills, both by wide margins and with bipartisan support. The Senate passed a bill allowing metro Atlanta and other counties in Georgia to pick projects and call a regional or local referendum. The House passed a bill calling a statewide referendum with projects identified. Please contact the Lt. Governor and Speaker of the House and ask them to appoint a conference committee as soon as possible.

We need YOU to urge Georgia House and Senate lawmakers to reach a consensus on a referendum-based funding measure that provides congestion relief.

Thanks,

Chick Krautler
