Daylight burglary in Laurel Ridge

From a resident on Pangborn in Laurel Ridge neighborhood ... FYI, my house was burglarized yesterday (April 21) at 4 p.m. The intruders kicked in the door in my carport and stole my laptop computer and a Panasonic Digital Camera. My burglar alarm was operational and I came back with the police, but they were gone before we got to my house.

Home Invasion on Harrington Drive April 21

From MANA Neighborhood Watch... "Sorry to have to inform you that one of your neighbors on Harrington had an break-in at 4pm today. The criminals kicked the door in and stole and TV and personal computer and then left the front door wide open without triggering the home security system. Fortunately, no one was home at the time or injured during the incident. The neighbor called the police and reported the incident and learned that a similar break-in had happened the same day up on MacClendon a bit further north on Lawrenceville Hwy. The only description that we have from another nearby neighbor was two large black men in their late 20's or early 30's driving a older model car with lots of rust.

Neighborhood birding

Many bird species are in trouble because of the loss of habitat in Georgia. Lots of birds come to backyards that offer food, water, and/or nesting materials. We found that the birds especially like the coconut fibre linings used for planters. Here are some photos from our backyard and one (the hawk) from Medlock. Feel free to send or upload your own. See the photos in the embedded slideshow below or on Flickr which includes a video of a chickadee gathering nesting materials.

More flower photos from Mason Mill Park

Spring rains this year have been good and the flowers in Mason Mill Park are plentiful. Mountain Laurel coming soon! Worth a walk along the South Peachtree Creek Trail and, if you can, on to the dirt trails as well. Please take only photos and do not remove any flowers or plants. We want them to grow and multiply in their natural habitat for everyone to enjoy. These photos taken in the last week (April 12-19, 2009) by CHCA board members Tim Bryson and Catherine Larson. See the photos in the slideshow frame below or on Flickr. Please feel free to upload or send along your own.
