Emory quarterly meeting with neighbors

Greetings to all: I hope this finds everyone well and getting geared up for the approaching holiday season. Our last quarterly community meeting for this year has been scheduled for Tuesday, December 15, from 6:30-8:00 PM., in the 1599 Clifton Road Building, conference room 1.432 (first floor), where we last met in September. As you know, these informal quarterly meetings are an opportunity to share information and discuss any particular issues of interest or concern to you with Mike Mandl, Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration.

Emory to Host Book Signing for Dr. Sanjay Gupta

Emory University's Woodruff Health Sciences Center will host a book signing for Sanjay Gupta, MD, assistant professor of neurosurgery, Emory School of Medicine, and CNN's top medical journalist. Gupta's new book, Cheating Death: The Miracles that are Saving Lives Against All Odds, was published this fall. When and Where: Wednesday, Nov. 18, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Woodruff Health Sciences Center Administration Building Auditorium, 1440 Clifton Rd.

C.K. WILLIAMS TO GIVE PUBLIC READING AT EMORY Award-Winning Poet Known for Everyday Observations, Whitmanesque lines Pulitzer Prize-winning poet C.K. Williams will give a public reading at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, in the Jones Room on Level 3 of the Robert W. Woodruff Library on the Emory University Campus. Admission is free.

Bike to Campus Day

Bike Emory is encouraging everyone who lives, works, learns and plays in the area to cycle to your campus to promote the cycling culture in the community. In the morning, riders will meet for a group ride in front of Bicycle South, located at 2098 North Decatur Road, at 8 a.m. where free breakfast foods will be provided. Before the ride a $25 Bicycle South gift certificate and cycling gear will be awarded to the cyclist with the longest commute and all riders can enter to win an additional $25 Bicycle South gift certificate. We hope to see you there!
