State Parks on the Chopping Block

From State Rep. Stephanie Stuckey Benfield: Last week, Georgia's state park officials revealed that in order to cope with a 39% decrease in funding from the state, some historic sites and lodges may close entirely, while others will cut their hours in half. From Cloudland Canyon to Sapelo Island, our parks preserve and protect some of our most beautiful places. A Georgia with no state parks is not what I want to leave our children. You can help by sending an e-mail to the governor, asking him to save our state parks. And please forward this on. We need a public outcry to turn this around.
