From CHCA resident Jim Smith: There are various efforts underway to assess and address the issue of cityhood in Dekalb County. These efforts will impact Central Dekalb neighborhoods in different ways. It is essential that residents become informed and act in ways to protect their neighborhoods.
Options being touted include:
1. Forming own city - This option is currently being reviewed by a number of civic associations. Some in partnership with others and some standalone.

One million Georgians have already voted, but if you have not yet voted, please allow me to share how I will vote on the two constitutional amendments that are on our ballots. I will vote NO on AMENDMENT No. 1 which creates a new state authority to override local school board's decisions on starting charter schools.

Today, Friday, is the last day for early voting. You have until 7 p.m. FYI, we voted at the county voter registration office on Memorial yesterday (Thursday) ca. 5 p.m. The volunteers and workers there were very efficient and we got through within minutes. Even at rush hour the drive wasn't that bad if you go the back way, i.e., via Medlock to N Decatur to Northern Ave. More info here.
