[Note: start time has changed from 4 to 3:00] The Clairmont Heights Civic Association will hold its annual meeting and block party Saturday, May 29, at the corner of Woodmoor and Densley, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
About 40 people attended the annual CHCA meeting Thursday, May 14, at the North Decatur Presbyterian Church. Guests included commissioner Kathie Gannon, County Greenspace director and Nature Preserve representative Dave Butler, and Parks & Rec projects manager John Anderson. After presenting various reports, the current board was re-elected. Reports dealt with the following topics:
The Clairmont Heights Civic Association Annual Meeting is scheduled for May 14, 7pm at North Decatur Presbyterian Church (across Medlock Rd. from Melton's). Agenda tentatively will include status of local redevelopments, Garden Club, transportation plan, sidewalks, and board elections.
Last night (May 15) about 60 residents showed up to our annual meeting. The CHCA board had set up table displays on CHCA boundaries, the North DeKalb Mall / Costco plan, proposed Entry Signs, and CHCA history, including parks and the PATH trail. After refreshments and introductions of the board member candidates, the election was held and the following board was elected:
President: Charlie Bleau
Vice President: John Maynard
Treasurer: Catherine Larson
Recording Secretary: Tim Bryson
Corresponding Secretary: Jim Smith

The Clairmont Heights Civic Association Annual Meeting is being planned for mid-May. Date to be determined upon availability of a room. Topics to include status of Medlock Park, PATH status, Emory Clairmont Campus update, Community Policing initiative and more. A new board(Pres., VP, Treas., Recording Sec., Corresponding Sec.) will be elected and proof of residency within our boundaries will be required to vote. We desperately need some fresh faces on our board, so even if you don't want an elected office, we need folks to chair/help with Public Safety, Transportation, Parks&Rec and Zoning.
The Clairmont Heights Civic Assoc. Annual Meeting will be held Thursday May 10, 7pm at North Decatur Presbyterian Church, 611 Medlock Road. (Where many of us vote)
The agenda will include the following:

Current events around the neighborhood
Status of sidewalk initiative
Status of various traffic-calming initiatives
Emory Walkable Community/Clifton Corridor Update
and other topics if time permits. Refreshments will be served.
